Introduction to Nepalese agriculture
The world, home of billions of
peoples and more than billions of other animals and uncounted number of plants
is to be saved due to unanimous impact of the most successive animal of the
world named him/her as “HUMAN” and call himself/herself the most intelligent
among the world. But, due to its over exploitation of resources of the best
part of the world, The Nature is in DANGER. Does it sounds good?? Off course
not to me and hope not to everybody who cares about it. Nepal it’s a country of
south Asian region lying between the two rising countries India and China
although its economy is far below the both of the nations. Most of the peoples
live below the poverty line and in the Global Hunger index. A small multiethnic
country having just about 0.15 million km2 area and having such
hunger issues should be kept in consideration while searching for the hunger
solution in global context. Have you imagined the people of the country live
with just a single $ food a day. I assume most of the people from developed countries
doesn’t believe this, but it’s a bitter truth of the country having a god
gifted fate. Beside the population of about 264 million more than half of the
population lives with a single $ for a day. Do you know that about 80% of the
population of my country are involved in agriculture? But the fate shows the
different thing, they live by importing about half food from neighboring
countries. Nepal has tremendous source of water resources and about 63000 MW
electricity has been estimated from those sources but about 1000 MW has been
deducted, and half of the electricity has been imported from India. The worst
part of the country is the poor nutritional knowledge and high hunger issues.
Almost all part of the country is food deficit except few district of the terai
regions.
